Greeting the first hour of the New Year 2023 with abundant grace and thanksgiving, Singapore Immanuel Church offered the first prayer of 2023 to God and to truly dedicate their lives with God as the center on January 1, 2023.
Pastor Drew offered the opening prayer at the stroke of midnight and preached the sermon on Isaiah 60:1-3, which was entitled, ‘Arise, Shine’. The sermon emphasized the importance of being spiritually awakened to obey and carry out God’s Will as the ones with commission to reflect God’s light that many will be saved for great revival in Singapore. The prophecy given by Isaiah is a hopeful message for Israelites, which can be interpreted that the year 2023 is a year to get up and be recovered, and to save many more through the name of Jesus Christ.
Referencing to the recent Christmas message delivered, Pastor Drew added,”Just as Jesus Christ came down as the true light in the darkness. We need to be the reflectors of light and respond to God’s calling to arise.
In the history of Christianity, when the ones who had the Commission and fell asleep, God had to choose new people. It is our turn to deliver good news to people, and be spiritually awakened to fully offer whatever we have received from God – our precious time, health, possessions, energy and everything.
This year will be a great year. We have a small victory and achievement by God’s grace in the past year, now God is inviting us to bigger and greater grace and works. We need to truly make a resolution to fully and not partially, to offer my life to God.”
After the New Year service, each Singapore member received their Bible verse for the New Year of 2023, and thanked God for the past year and shared their grace with one another for the hope God has placed in them for the new year through the Bible verse.
All glory be to God for His unending mercies and faithfulness for the beginning of the New Year! May God lead Singapore members to continually be filled with God’s immeasurable and glorious grace to be His clean vessels of light and righteousness, revealing Jesus Christ in their lives.
